Tuesday Testimonies – Tulia Wolfe

As we travel on our spiritual journey, it’s always encouraging to hear from others how God has worked in their lives. Periodically we’ll share testimonies from our NAOBC Women on how God worked in their life. Today’s testimony is from Tulia Wolfe.

Tulia has been a member of NAOBC for five years. She’s involved in the Singles BFG and you can read more about her here.

This spring was an extremely difficult time for my family. In March, my whole family got Covid. All of us made it through okay, but my Mom went downhill very quickly. In a whirlwind of events, she was admitted to a Covid ICU unit and was in critical condition immediately. She was not allowed any visitors, which made the two weeks she was in the hospital awful for all of us. But as she was there, she began to share the Gospel with any nurse she came into contact with. She asked me to get some booklets that present the Gospel and Starbucks gift cards to give to the people caring for her.

The hardest moment I have ever experienced was when she called us to say goodbye. Her breathing was labored so her words were few, but she told me she loved me and that she would see me in Heaven. I can’t think of any other time where my trust in God was tested more than that moment.

The Lord chose to spare her life and after more days in the hospital, she was finally released to in-home care. The hug we got to have when we finally got to see her was my all-time favorite! A few weeks later I was admitted into the same hospital she had just been in and while there, a large cyst was found on my brain. I was being prepared for surgery when my surgeon took a moment to consider my MRI again and decided to wait on surgery, and I’m so glad the Lord prompted him to do this. The side effects would have likely been permanent if he had continued with surgery that day. The Lord has held my family through all of the health struggles this year has brought.

My Mom has come a long way, including learning how to walk again! She still has permanent severe lung damage that will require her to be on oxygen for the rest of her life, but we are so thankful she is still here with us! This past Christmas was extra special because she got to be here celebrating earth-side!
