We Were Made to Worship

The worship ministry seeks to serve and support Ninth and O through leading Christ-centered, Scripture-saturated worship gatherings, incorporating the best elements of modern worship music and styles with the best of the hymn tradition, utilizing musical styles that are relevant to the local body and will support the singing of God’s gathered people. We employ worship music that is biblically and theologically robust, lyrically and musically accessible, and artistically excelling.

Worship Team

Our worship team consists of vocalists and instrumentalist who lead our congregation each week in our regular worship gatherings.  Members interested in auditioning for this group may do so here.

Adult Worship Choir
Wednesdays Nights at 6:30 (August–October, January–April) and Sunday Nights at 4:30 (November–December)

Our Adult Worship Choir provides an opportunity with those with musical interest and skill to participate in worship leadership. The choir season runs from August through May. The choir sings about once a month in our Sunday worship services and is open to church members.

Student and Kids Choirs

Our student and kids choirs provide an opportunity for children and teens to develop basic singing skills and learn songs and hymns for performance.  The kids choirs meet during the summer and again in late fall.  Our student choir meets in November and December. These choirs are featured in our annual Christmas Worship service.

Student Worship Training (Summer 2023)

Students with musical interest and aptitude will be provided with theological and practical training in worship leadership skills.  Whether instrumentalist or vocalists, students will be taught practical skills, such as basic music reading, playing in an ensemble, and how to effectively use their instrument and/or voice in worship.  Each session will also feature teaching on topics such as what worship is, why we sing, and spiritual preparation to participate in and lead worship.

Tech Team (Audio, Video, and Lighting)

Our tech team is responsible for providing technical support for all of our regular worship services through our audio, video, and lighting systems.  Members interested in serving with our tech team may contact Pastor Craig for more information.

Songwriting & Recording

We have undertaken to write original songs for worship as a way to contribute our voice the worship at Ninth & O.  Birthed out of our personal walks with Jesus, and informed by the preaching and teaching at NAOBC, these songs are meant as an encouragement to grow in grace and faith.  Periodically we will introduce original songs in our worship services, and we work to record and release these songs on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and more, as an encouragement to our church in worship.  You can find more information on our original songs and recording projects, as well as links to individual streaming platforms and sheet music resources here.
