Welcome to the NAOBC Women’s Ministry Blog!

Today begins a new era in the NAOBC Women’s Ministry.  We are launching a blog to help the women of NAOBC (and beyond) to stay connected to the community of women at our church.  Technology can be a wonderful thing in allowing people to connect that otherwise may never meet.  With a congregation each Sunday of more than 600 people, various BFGs, multiple worship services and areas to serve, it is difficult to connect with as many people as we’d like.  Now that’s changed.  Our prayer as a ministry is that this blog will help develop new relationships within our body of believers that will grow beyond the computer screen and become encouragers, mentors and friends.

What will this blog contain?  Glad you asked.  Here are just a few of the posts you will see in the coming months…

  • Hear from our ministerial staff wives.  Who are these women behind the male leadership of our church?  There is much wisdom found there and we hope you’ll get to know the hearts of these women who support and help lead alongside their husbands.
  • Hear from all across the world.  Our church prays and has “adopted” many missionary families that have left out of our congregation.  These families are serving all over the world and on this blog, you’ll get to hear from their hearts as they grow in Christ sharing the gospel in some very dark places.
  • Hear from our Preschool and Children’s Ministry.  We are blessed with two amazing leaders in Beth Blackwell and Vanessa Sims.  They lead and care for each of the children of our church – all who have a soul that will never die.  You’ll hear their hearts as they share the latest happenings in their ministry, ways you can volunteer, and provide resources as you mother your little ones.
  • Hear testimonies and practical advice.  So many of our women have walked journeys that many of us have never known.  Some of us are walking our own journeys and would love to hear how other women have clung to Christ during difficult times.  You’ll hear from women of our church who will share how God providentially worked in their lives in the good times and bad, and what He taught them along the way.  Along with that spiritual encouragement, we’ll have women providing practical tips – easy meal planning, recipes and even crafts.  There is no limit what you might find on this blog.
  • Be a part of virtual book clubs.  In the coming months, we’ll be launching a book club to help you grow in your faith right in the comfort of your home.  We’ll be promoting the book we’ll be reading so you’ll be able to obtain a copy, and then providing a schedule where you can follow along with the reading.  Each chapter will be summarized here on the blog and provide thought-provoking questions to help start discussions right here in the comment section.  Our prayer is that your heart will change in this regular connection with women, reading about how God can transform your life.  We also pray that through this virtual community, real relationships will develop that will last a lifetime.

That’s just a preview of what is to come.  You don’t want to miss one post.  Be sure to share this blog address with the women in your BFGs, small groups and even those lost friends and family in your life that might continue to turn down your invitation to come to church or to an event.  Let this blog be used evangelistically to help open doors to share the gospel.  There are two ways you can connect to be sure not to miss a single post.  First, if you are on Facebook, there is a place on the left side of this page where you can “like” our Women’s Ministry Facebook Page.  Each time we post a new blog entry, it will appear there with a link to click through.  Or you can subscribe to this blog via email.  On the bottom right of your screen, you should see a box that says “Follow.”  That box allows you to enter your e-mail address and subscribe.  Even if you don’t do either of those things, save this page as a bookmark and be sure to visit often.

God has much in store for us in 2014.  Let’s be a part of His Plan to use us for His Glory.
