NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Tammy Owens

When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Tammy Owens.

Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.

A: My husband and I have been married for 39 years. My husband, Kevin, is a physical therapist, and I have worked in healthcare management for the past 20 years.

We have one daughter, Sami. She is 14 years old. We adopted our precious daughter from China in 2010. Ninth and O was extremely instrumental in assisting us with the adoption. We received a financial gift through the adoption ministry as well as many prayers of support.

Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?

A: 2006 through 2012. We were looking for a place to worship that truly preached the word of God, which Ninth & O does. We were also looking for a friendly welcoming church where we could serve.

Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?

A. Children’s choir, VBS, Klondike nursing home ministry

Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?

A: There are a lot of wonderful memories but I would say the one that touched me the most was after we returned from China with Sami. The children’s choir bulletin board was covered in pictures of Sami with the words “WELCOME”.

Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?

A: The learning that we experienced while attending Ninth and O was one of the greatest periods of spiritual growth that the Lord has blessed me with through the reading and studying of His word.
