NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Rachel Yates
When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Rachel Yates.
Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.
A: I live in Tennessee. I have been married to my husband, Kevin, for almost 17 years and we have five children. I teach second grade and absolutely love it!
Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?
A: I attended NAOBC from 2002ish until 2010 when we moved to Tennessee. My family began attending NAOBC when I was in middle school and I continued into adulthood.
Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?
A. I served in the preschool.

Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?
A: So many memories. It’s truly where I grew up in many ways. Centrifuge camp in Florida, mission trip to Seattle, college retreats, ski trips, VBS, coffee shop Bible studies, rocking babies in the nursery, rocking my own babies in the nursing mother’s room, meeting my husband at NAOBC and marrying him in the same sanctuary I was baptized in, and where I would later dedicate my first two babies to the Lord. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?
A: The community- it was “home” to me for a long time. As well as the preaching and teaching. I grew in my very young faith there under some amazing leadership, for that I am forever thankful!
