NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Pauline Eldridge

When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Pauline Eldridge

Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.

A: I’ve been married to Beckham for close to 34 years. We have one son, Jonathan, and a beautiful daughter-in-love, Ashley. We now live in Somerset, KY, near Lake Cumberland. I actually grew up not far from here, and Beckham’s parents live here now. We both work from home for employers in Louisville. I have had the privilege of serving the faculty and staff at Southern Seminary for more than 11 years now. Our current church is Beacon Hill Baptist Church where I serve in the choir and on the Welcome Team. I also love being in our Grow Group (BHBC’s version of BFG).

Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?

A: We attended NAOBC from 2002 until 2022. Initially, we were searching for a Biblically solid church in which to raise our then 9-year-old son. We fell in love with the people of NAOBC in no time, and it was very hard to leave when the Lord called us away!

Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?

A. During my time at NAOBC, I served on the Women’s Committee and in the choir. I also served in the Ladies class where I eventually became one of the teachers. In the last few years of our time at NAOBC, I helped Beckham as he Directed a BFG, and I served on the Personnel Team.

Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?

A: There are so many favorite memories! My mind always goes back to the time when we were not yet members or very new members in 2002. My mom passed away after a months-long battle with cancer that had had me traveling back and forth to TN quite a bit. While we were away for the funeral, the ladies of our Sunday School class, whom we barely knew, came in and cleaned our house. I never forgot how that made me feel loved and part of a family. The sense of family only grew deeper over the years after that.

Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?

A: One thing I’ve always loved about NAOBC is the depth of Bible teaching and preaching. I found myself challenged to grow spiritually like never before. But part of that challenge to grow also came from the relationships built in the various small groups along the way. NAOBC will always have a special place in my heart, and I pray it will continue to thrive and be a light in Louisville.
