NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Meghan Johnson
When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Meghan Johnson.
Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.
A: Raymond and I have five kids: Abigail (13), Charlotte (11), Emily (9), Michael (6), and Eleanor (4). We live in West Chester, PA, where Raymond pastors Christ Church West Chester. Now that most of my kids are in school, I spend one or two days a week as a substitute teacher in our school district and I also babysit for a few families in our church whose moms desire to keep their foot in the door with their careers while their children are young.
We’re in the stage of life that I like to call “taxi season”…we spend a lot of time on logistics, watching practices/games, and acting as chauffeur (I have a lot of kid-friendly podcast recommendations 😊).
Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?
A: I attended NAOBC from 2008-2015. We were in Louisville for Raymond to attend Southern Seminary.
Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?
A. I served mostly in the nursery, but we were also involved in the college ministry for a bit.

Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?
A. I think my favorites memories from our time at NAOBC revolve around holidays spent with our church family. Since a lot of us were far removed from our families and didn’t have the time or money to travel home for most holidays, we came together as a spiritual family and took turns hosting, shared the cooking responsibilities, and encouraging one another.
Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?
A: I guess in that same vein, I really loved the family nature of our BFG/community group. We made long-lasting friendships during our time at NAOBC and that happened primarily through our small group.
