NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Kayla Thomas
When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Kayla Thomas.
Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.
A: I have been married to Tyler for 11 years and we have three wonderful kids — two girls and a boy! We currently live south of St. Louis, MO. I am a sixth grade math teacher and about to begin my 14th year of teaching. When we lived in Louisville I taught at Christian Academy of Louisville and LOVED it! Tyler is a Student Pastor and we love serving together!
Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?
A: We attended NAOBC from 2013-2016. We moved to Louisville from Missouri for Tyler to attend Southern Seminary. After he graduated, we moved back to Missouri which is where I grew up.

Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?
A: During our time at NAOBC we were a part of YC7 and were very active in that group. We also helped in the children’s ministry and helped feed the homeless in downtown Louisville.
Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?
A. All of my sweet memories have something to do with YC7. We met lifelong friends at NAOBC and enjoyed every moment!
Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?
A: I love the friendships that we made during our time at NAOBC. We also enjoyed Dr. Cook’s sermons and sometimes still stream services. Our time at NAOBC is a time that we will always treasure. Both Tyler and I grew so much spiritually and the habits and disciplines we learned during our time in Louisville are still very much a part of our lives now.
