NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Cindy Wilson
When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Cindy Wilson.
Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.
A: My husband, Craig, and I currently live in Nicosia, Cyprus, where he serves as lead Elder of Nicosia International Church. I am leading the women’s discipleship ministry. We are also regional coordinators and trainers for the MENA region for RTIM Organization. We have one daughter who is currently teaching at a school in Louisville, and finishing her master’s degree.
Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?
A: We joined NAOBC in 2001 and left in 2009 for the Middle East as “tent makers”. We were invited to attend NAOBC by another family (Doug and Lisa Weaver), while sitting at Southern Seminary’s pool with our kids. After our first visit, we knew that this was the church for our family!

Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?
A: I served in both the nursery and children’s ministry. I also served in the women’s ministry through discipleship and mentoring. I can’t remember if I served in any other capacity😂.
Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?
A: This is a hard question, as I have so many fond memories – such as wonderful, deep, life-long friendships made, exposure to godly Bible teachers who poured into my life (as well as my family), and who also challenged me to be involved in ‘meaningful” ministries. I still remember Jaylynn’s encouragement given to me, and her life’s example lived out before me in pursuing the Titus 2 model of ministry for women!
Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?
A: I loved how the members of NAOBC were so warm, loving, and welcoming to anyone who walked through the doors of the church, including myself and my family. Their commitment to being unified in the Gospel, along with taking the Gospel to the nations was clear – and why I serve alongside my husband in our context.
