NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Christy Davis
When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Christy Davis.
Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.
A: I currently am a stay-at-home Mom. I homeschool my three oldest children (Hannah, Benjamin, and Malachi) and I am also a foster Mom. We currently have three foster children in our home. We have fostered 15 children the last six years. Daniel and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary this month. Daniel works at Lifeway and edits the Gospel Project for adults curriculum. We are both very active at our church, Edgefield Church in Nashville. We serve mostly in children’s ministry.
Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?
A: Daniel and I attended Ninth and O from 2002 – 2006. Daniel was a student at the seminary and we started looking for a church to call home. I called a friend, Phillip Brown, and asked him where he went to church and he invited us to Ninth and O. We attended that week and loved it!

Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?
A: While at Ninth and O we served in the AWANA ministry on Sunday nights, we also sang in the choir.
Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?
A: Ninth and O was such a great church! We really enjoyed our Sunday School Class. Dr. Betts was the teacher. We enjoyed many nights of fellowship with our class and of course the Sunday morning class. One thing I remember is when we were adopting our first daughter, Hannah, our class was so supportive of us. Hannah came so quickly that there was not even time for a baby shower. We didn’t have anything for a baby when she was born, except a car seat. When we arrived home from the hospital our Sunday School class showed up with everything we would need for a baby and more! They really took good care of us and loved us so much!
Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?
A: There are so many things we loved about Ninth and O. All of the people we met, we were there for a short time but I still feel so connected to the people we met there (Facebook helps with that too). We were so thankful for a church with solid Biblical preaching and people who loved each other and served each other. There is not quite another church like Ninth and O.
