NAOBC for Life Spotlight – Cherie Orange
When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Cherie Orange.
Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.
A: I am a Florida girl and God led us back to my home state after living In Louisville for approximately 6 years. I teach 4th grade in a small public school and serve as one of the co-directors of our youth group at the church where my husband is an associate pastor. I met my husband at NAOBC and we have two teen daughters.
Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?
A: I attended NAOBC while in seminary from 2001-2005. I had been in Louisville about a year and just couldn’t find the right place to serve and grow while in seminary. Bethany Teague Davis invited me to 9th & O and from the moment I walked through those doors I knew I was home.

Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?
A: I was involved in the singles ministry, counseling ministry, and taught 3rd grade Sunday school, which is where I met my sweet husband.
Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?
A: NAOBC was truly my home away from home! God gave me deep friendships that stretched me and gave me opportunities to serve others using the gifts He gave me. I have so many wonderful memories from my time there, I’m not sure I could narrow them down! Of course, meeting my Bill and having our wedding there would be at the pinnacle!😄
Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?
A: I have already mentioned it, but the way I was welcomed in, it felt like home and my group felt like family. I forged amazing friendships during my time at 9th & O and those friendships drove me closer to my Savior, I pray I did the same for others.
