NAOBC For Life Spotlight – Amy Harmon

When you are a member at NAOBC, no matter where God takes you, the love for NAOBC remains. It’s part of your DNA. Periodically we’ll spotlight women who were former members – see where they are today and what NAOBC means to them. Today we’re meeting Amy Harmon.

Q: Tell a little about yourself – family, occupation (if applicable), etc.

A: I have been married to my husband Kin for 27 years; we have three children: Grant (26), Grayson (23) & Greta (21). I am currently serving in the role of Executive Assistant at Brightstar Care.

Q: When did you attend NAOBC? What brought you to NAOBC?

A: I started attending Ninth O church with my family as a small child and attended Ninth & O Academy from 1st to 12th grade.

Q: Where did you serve while at NAOBC?

A. During my time at Ninth & O, I was deeply involved in children’s activities through church camp and Vacation Bible School.   As I grew older, I became active in the youth group, creating some of my greatest memories on Mission Tours during the summers at various locations. Rick Butler, my youth pastor, had a tremendous impact, making the youth group a truly special experience. I also served in the nursery and worked at the daycare center after school during high school. Being part of the choir and worship team was another highlight, allowing me to contribute to the church in a meaningful and fulfilling way.

Q: What memory from your time at NAOBC means the most to you still today?

A: Looking back on my life, I hold Ninth & O as the special place that introduced me to Jesus. I began attending as a young child, and it became the foundation of my spiritual journey—from children’s church to the youth group and eventually into young adulthood. There, I learned the Bible and surrounded myself with people who loved, supported, and invested in me. My greatest memory, however, is from a high school chapel service, where I made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

Q: What is one thing you loved about NAOBC?

A: I cherished the people! Many of my closest friends to this day came from my time at the church and school. Ninth & O was more than just a building for worship—it was a community where fellow believers walked alongside me through life’s highs and lows, celebrating the joys and supporting me through the heartaches. I always felt the love and care of the people there, knowing they would continually point me toward Jesus.
