We love our city and are excited to express this love in a tangible way through Love the Ville. Love the Ville consists of various service projects where we mobilize our church to serve the city in order to be salt and light to others. Love the Ville 2021 will take place Saturday, August 28. Projects will occur in the morning hours followed by a volunteer lunch at the church. Project information will be unveiled June 27. Registration for projects opens up July 11.

Love the Ville projects include:

Love Avery Apartments – Ben Nguyen (benjaminguyen1010@yahoo.com)
During Covid, a vision of a long-term commitment to the Apartments across the street has been born. The Avery Apartments now have 2 Ninth and O interns who live in the apartments and have a purpose to bless those who are there through the good news of Jesus and meeting physical needs. There will be an opportunity to give to the known needs of the residents. We will deliver these items to the apartments that day and have an event with snacks and games.

Love Breckenridge – Aaron Pickard (ajp33ky@gmail.com)
We want our neighbors with our Beautify Breckenridge project. This project will make Breckenridge look great from Bardstown Road to Six Mile Lane by picking up trash, trimming and edging weeds on the sidewalk, and painting over graffiti on the underpass near Six Mile.

Love Businesses – Ryan Pickwick (pickwickr@yahoo.com)
Imagine the impact made as members step foot through the front doors of 80 plus businesses with a gift in hand! We will be sending out teams into our community to visit nearby businesses to thank them for their service to our city for this project. We will assemble the gifts we distribute in the morning, and gifts will contain handwritten notes, treats, and gift cards.

Love First Responders – Brandon Pisacrita (brandonpisacrita@gmail.com)
We want to love the Ville by saying “thank you” to the brave men and women who serve and protect us. We will be creating thank you packages for several of our Fire and Police precincts filled with baked goods and thank you cards. Teams will assemble gift baskets and deliver them during Love the Ville.

Love Foster Care – Liz Howell (nurse4christ@gmail.com)
Supporting those involved in our city’s foster care system is essential. We want to show our support by distributing appreciation gifts to workers and families serving the most vulnerable children in our city. The gifts we distribute will be assembled the morning of, and they will include handwritten notes, treats, and gift cards.

Love Forrest Hills – Ben McMillan (bmcmillan286@students.sbts.edu)
For the past few years, seniors at Forrest Hills have been blessed by Ninth & O as we help conduct Sunday Services for them. We will be putting on a Carnival-like event for them in their activities area with games and snacks, which is an excellent way for us to bring some life into their day. All ages are encouraged to sign up.

Love Okolona Elementary – Larry Buchanan (lbuchanan@naobc.org)
We will be trimming trees, weed eating, painting, mulching, and various other little projects for Okolona Elementary.

Love on the Move – Vanessa Sims (vsims56@gmail.com)
A team of faithful prayer warriors will ride on the church bus to each Love the Ville Project to pray over the project and people. There will be songs of praise and games played en route to each destination.

Love Refugees – Ginger Wilkinson (msgingerwilkinson@gmail.com)
In partnership with Refuge International, we are going to spend the morning serving our city’s refugees. Our focus will be on tending and mulching garden beds.

Love the Ville Celebration
– Gabriel Hinerman (ghinerman@naobc.org)
This team will host our post projects celebration. There will be lunch and a time to share testimonies and stories about how we saw God at work during Love the Ville.

Love Watterson Elementary – Harrison Meggos (harrisonmeggos@gmail.com)
We are going back to Watterson Elementary to bless them again by sprucing up what we started two years ago with painting and landscaping. The school is just down the street, and they are excited to have us come back and help any way we can.
