Meet the Women of NAOBC – Tracy Monarch

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Tracy Monarch.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: My husband, Jerry, and I are empty nesters. We have two married children and one amazing granddaughter. Our daughter, Rachael and her husband, Alex, and daughter, Maris, live here in Louisville. Hence the reason we started a new chapter five years ago and sold our house of 17 years in Owensboro and moved to Louisville. Our son, Ryan, and his wife, Ally, live in Philadelphia. Ryan met Ally while attending Eastern University of PA and they’ve made their home there close to her family. I’m a bookkeeper at Christian Academy of Louisville. Before our move, I was the Office Manager of our home church. I used to always say that my favorite job title was during my years as a stay-at-home Mom, but these days of being a Gram are pretty rewarding too.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: We’ve been members of NAOBC four years. We love serving the young families of our church by caring for their babies in the nursery. Before the pandemic, I also helped organize the Tuesday night Aerobics class. This past year has been a challenge for all of us – but I’m so thankful for NAOBC and the Sunday services being online and the weekly Devotionables. It has also been a great time to meet different ladies of the church through our NAOBC Women’s Ministry Facebook Group.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: Jerry and I are high school sweethearts. We got married just shy of 19 years old after his enlistment in the Navy. We will celebrate our 35th anniversary this year! I attribute our successful teenage marriage to the Lord always planting us in a supportive church family at every duty station.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: I go to my life verse, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, My Rock and My Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

My life was anchored in 9th & 0 at an early age. I was enrolled in the Cradle Roll Department at 6 weeks of age, 1942. The most influential lady of 9th & 0 is Ora Bryant for her years of service in the Beginner Department. She cashed in her life insurance policy so she could be a part of a building program!
