Meet the Women at NAOBC – Shelley Sullivan
On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Shelley Sullivan.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: I have been married to my husband, Steve for 37 years come August. I am an administrative assistant at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I will have been there 24 years in December
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: We joined NAOBC in November of 2004. We are in the AC3 BFG (Awesome Couples 3) where I serve as the communication liaison (sending out notes from the class lesson, prayer requests and announcements for the class.) We have previously served in Awana Cubbies and the preschool ministry when we were able.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: God miraculously physically healed me at a very young age. I was scheduled to have surgery and my Dad convinced the hospital staff to discharge me so I could be taken to church and prayed for. Upon my return to the hospital, the doctors could find no further need for surgery!
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A: In addition to my mother, my maternal grandmother was a big influence in my life. She was a great example of a quiet spirit and great devotion to her family. I loved spending as much time as I could with her whether it be in the kitchen watching her bake or listening to her quiet, loving voice as I drifted off to sleep. I also have a deep admiration for my pastor’s wife, Jaylynn Cook. She is a great example of loving and serving our Lord with all of her being while lovingly and faithfully serving our church beside her husband.
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: Over the last several years of family health challenges to just simple everyday life, the Lord has taught and is still teaching me to trust Him fully in all things and to not be afraid.
