Meet the Women at NAOBC – Sabreena Thompson
On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Sabreena Thompson.
Q: Tell us about yourself.
A. I’ve been married to my husband, Korbyn, for 5 years and we are new parents to our 5 month old son, Diego. I am a Southern seminary student working on my Master of Missiology degree and we hope to serve with the IMB in South America upon graduation. I’m also a stay-at-home mom!
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: We’ve been at church since 2021, in YC3 BFG, and I enjoy serving in VBS each summer. I’m on the rope holding team for the Sills family, and a Love the Ville team leader this year. We will also be taking Diego on the Ecuador mission trip this fall.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: Before I was called into the ministry, I was a graphic design major and enjoy making very large scale sculptures out of recycled materials like metal, old toys, bottles, or anything really!
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A. The woman that has made the biggest impact in my life has been my high school basketball coach, Candy Goff. My dad passed away in an accident when I was 15 and she also lost her dad when she was young. She helped me channel my grief into physical activity and this helped me a lot. She encouraged me in my faith in a very hard time and I think back on that often.
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: The Lord has been teaching me that His plans for me and my family are far better than anything I could dream up for myself. That it is good to make plans and work hard towards them, but to hold them with a loose grip as He gives and takes away according to His will.
