Meet the Women at NAOBC – Renea Rainey

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Renea Rainey.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: My husband Gary and I have been married for 49 years. We have two sons, Derick and David, and two grandchildren, Cate and Daniel. Our son Derick and his wife Sheryl live in Omaha, Nebraska; our son David and his wife, Chyanna, and our grandchildren live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have worked in the medical field for 35 years as a medical assistant, manager, and COO. I retired from UofL Health in July 2023.

Q: How long have you been at NAOBC? BFG? Areas where you serve?

A: We have been atbNAOBC for a little over two years. We love this church and have the most amazing BFG. We have made some wonderful new friends and have learned so much. Gary and I serve on the communion committee. We help prepare communion and then clean up afterward.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: A fun fact about me is that I am the sixth child out of seven. I have five older brothers and a younger sister. Also, I love the snow.

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: My mother has made the greatest impact on my life. Her actions always spoke louder than her words. She was a strong, hardworking, loving mother. She taught me to treat others, no matter who they were, with kindness, compassion, and respect. She helped others without reservation. She talked to them about Jesus and was always available to help. She showed me how to love; she did not just say it.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: In the past year, the Lord has taught me He is faithful. I have been in church my entire life and went to a Christian school, so I have read the Word, but this past year, the Lord has taught me more about His faithfulness and love than ever before. Through His servants here at NAOBC, I have learned to trust Him more and to go to Him first, and He is always faithful.
