Meet the Women at NAOBC – Rebekah McIntosh

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Rebekah McIntosh.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: I’m originally from Eastern Kentucky but moved to Louisville several years ago. I originally came to Louisville for school but moved back here permanently in 2016 because of NAOBC. I live with my sister (you might know her; we look a little similar) and work in a call center of sorts where I get to conduct some minimal research.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: I’ve been at NAOBC for a total of seven years. In 2020 I moved from the Singles BFG to IC4. Currently, I serve on the Lord’s Supper and Baptism teams.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: I’ve had a fondness for classic movies (from the 1930s-1950s era) since I was a kid. My favorite TV station as a kid was Turner Classic Movies. It doesn’t get better than Cary Grant!

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: Several women came to my mind when I read this question, but I would have to say my Aunt Hazel. Her husband was a pastor and she was a children’s minister for many years. She exemplified serving the Lord with joy even when life had not been easy and the way she loved people was a testament to her love for the Lord. She passed away when I was 16 and that is one heavenly reunion I can’t wait to have.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: The last year I have definitely learned the importance of corporate worship. Not that I didn’t think it was important before, but I had never had to be away from church very much before this year. Due to my work schedule, I have had to miss church every other week for the past year and I can feel the toll it has taken on me, but I am thankful for the reminder this season has been of the blessing God has given us in each other and look forward with anticipation to the day I will be able to be in church on a regular basis again.
