Meet the Women at NAOBC – Lisa Johnson

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Lisa Johnson.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: My husband, Keith, and I will be married 26 years this July. We have five children. Adam graduated from Bellarmine in May. Emma will be a junior at Bellarmine next fall. Nathan just finished his sophomore year at Christian Educational Consortium. Lydia will be entering sixth grade and Isaiah fifth grade in the fall at New Song Christian Academy. I also teach science at their school two days a week. Homeschooling has kept me pretty busy the last 11 years.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: Our family began attending NAOBC in the fall of 2017. We were immediately thankful for how welcoming the staff and members of NAOBC were. We attend Jeff Elieff’s BFG and are very thankful for the community of support we find there. Keith and I currently serve as fourth and fifth grade BFG teachers on Sunday Morning. I also teach in the Kids’ Wednesday night discipleship classes for grades K-2.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: We’re neighbors to the Elieff’s and neighbors and friends to April and her husband, Ivan, prior to his passing.

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: Many women have impacted me in a positive way, but my Mother has made the biggest impact on my life. Over the years, after I became a mother myself, I looked back and realized how many sacrifices she made for her children as we grew up. She was dedicated to investing in my three sisters and I as we grew in our faith. She always pointed us to Him and prayed for us faithfully throughout our life. Her chief desire is that we would glorify Him in all we do. I am so thankful for her Godly leadership in my life.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: This year has brought some very difficult moments in our family. Throughout these trials, He has shown Himself to be faithful again and again. Even when my circumstances are unexpected, confusing or even heartbreaking, He can most definitely be trusted. He is faithful to keep His promises and will always be sovereign over all things. He continues to remind me of these truths each day. I’m very thankful for His daily reminders!
