On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Leah Sarley.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: My husband, Mike, and I will be married 22 years next month. We have one daughter, Abigail. I work for The Rawlings Group. I was born in Louisville and have lived in the Fern Creek/Highview area most of my life.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: We have been at NAOBC for 5 years. We are in Eileff/Downs BFG. I send out the prayer requests for our class. We teach the 2nd grade BFG once a month and have served on projects for Love the Ville. I help Melinda with the children’s choir.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: Both my parents come from large families and so I have over 90 cousins (my 1st cousins and their children) in the Louisville area.

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A. I was blessed with a mom who knows the Lord. My mother has been and still is the most impactful woman in my life. Even as an adult she will point me back to Scripture to form my decisions. She encouraged me to be involved in Bible studies. She often held them in her home for women to study together.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: Sometimes when I want move forward and “do something” the best thing I can do is be still and listen for His leading. In particular: Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
