Meet the Women at NAOBC – Laurie Tackett

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Laurie Tackett.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: I love my family. I am married to Claude and have four children: Luke (21), Alex (18), Abigail (14), Judson (12). I am an occupational therapist but am currently tutoring Biology and Pre-Algebra at my children’s homeschool program.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: We joined NAOBC in February 2022 after moving to KY from SC in August 2021. We love our IC-5 BFG, and I am serving in the women’s ministry.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: My favorite pastimes are journaling in a coffeeshop and riding my bike with my little dog running along beside me.

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: My mother. She serves tirelessly and humbly. In her mid-70s, she just got back from a mission trip and pours her life into serving and mentoring young and old women. She loves my father well and models faith in Christ to me.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: Just over a year ago, we packed up and moved to Louisville after spending my entire life in SC. The Lord has taught me about his gracious provision for my family and me in this new place, to trust Him in changing seasons of life, and that, even in a new, unfamiliar place, I am known by HIm. “The Lord is good. A stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust HIm. “ Nahum 1:7
