Meet the Women at NAOBC – Lacie Salada
On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Lacie Salada.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: My husband, Drew and I met here in Louisville (I’m from Alaska and he’s from Michigan), have been married for almost 4 years (July 8, 2017) , and we are expecting our first child in November! I’ve worked as a nanny and piano teacher for the last four years and I’ve always loved both, but I am really looking forward to being a stay-at-home mom and teaching piano. I love reading, cooking, music, sleeping, being outdoors, counseling, and spending as much time as possible with my hubby.
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: My husband joined NAOBC October 2016, and when we started dating in January 2017, I joined him! We’re in YC7, and serve in various areas including choir, ushering, nursery, Sunday school, VBS, really anywhere there is a need- we especially love filling in when something is needed last minute.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: I went to State for cross-country skiing!
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A: My Mom – she has poured so much time and wisdom and love into my life. She is so godly, loves Jesus so much, is an amazing example of how to be an excellent wife and mom, and I am SO very thankful for her!
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: Over the last year, the Lord has been teaching me a lot about growing in thankfulness. I had noticed how often I had begun to complain in daily life – about the traffic, the weather, the way my body feels, the things I have to do…and I was super convicted that I was spending far too much time complaining and not nearly enough time being thankful. So I started to replace my complaining thoughts every single time with a short, thankful prayer. It’s definitely hard and I don’t always remember to, but I have noticed that I’ve begun to be much more thankful and much slower to complain. It’s been a good lesson.
