Meet the Women at NAOBC – Jazmina Pursell
On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Jazmina Pursell.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: I’m originally from South Florida but now live here for my husband Noah to attend seminary. We have a baby in heaven and a two-year-old boy, Ronnie. I’m a stay-at-home mom, but I used to work as a nanny before I had Ronnie.
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: I’ve been at Ninth & O since January 2019. We started in the college BFG where Noah was a member but then transitioned to YC3 at the end of January 2019 and have been there ever since! YC3 are our people and our family that we aren’t related to. I serve in the children’s ministry helping out in the Berry Room but also serve in the youth ministry on Wednesday nights as a D-Group leader for 6th grade girls.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: I used to work for the Miami Dolphins NFL team when I lived in South Florida. I worked with the players and coaches at the training camp for their nutrition/food plans and also worked at the Stadium for all the games and any other events like concerts or soccer games. It was such a fun time and I loved working there.
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A: There are so many amazing women that have poured into me over the years, but I would have to say my mom has made the most impact on me. I miss her dearly since we live far from my family in Florida, but she’s one of my greatest supporters in life. Something I learned from her is how kind and giving her and my dad were with everything they had. My mom was always giving away things that someone needed and I saw how the Lord blessed our family with always providing what we needed. The Lord will supply every need of ours and I saw that first hand by how my mom lives her life to help the needs of others around her.
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: Something the Lord has taught me in the last year is how much He loves me. Sometimes I get caught up in how the Lord has saved me but I forget to remember that He did so because of His love for me. The Lord has just reminded me that I’m His daughter and He is my Father that loves me more than I can imagine. Leaning into my daughterhood and living in light of His love for me has been huge for me this year. I’m so grateful for His grace and mercy but I am especially grateful for His love. He delights in me and that is a thought too wonderful for me, but I get to live in the identity He has given me which is incredible.
