Meet the Women at NAOBC – Jane Barrett
On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Jane Barrett.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: I am a sophomore at Whitefield Academy. I have gone to Whitefield since the 7th grade. Before that my family did a lot of moving. In the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade I went to CAL (Christian Academy of Louisville). My third grade year my family moved to Florida where my dad had a job at The First Academy, a college preparatory school. And for my Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade years I went to a public school in St Matthews (St Matthews Elementary). Some of my favorite things are the color yellow, my friends, soccer, my dog, and reading.
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: I have been at Ninth and O since I was born! Minus the 10ish months my family lived in Orlando, Florida. I am a part of the youth ministry and am applying to be on the leadership team for the Student Ministry.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: Most people don’t know that my older sister, Emma, and I are what they call Irish twins. What that means is we are a day less than a year apart. So 364 days apart. Her birthday is March 25 and my birthday is March 24.
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A: My mom 100%. I know that’s probably super basic but I don’t know what I would do without her. She is always there to support me when I need it and laugh at me when I’m being dumb. She’s there when I need correcting and there when I need comforting. She’s someone I go to with everything. I normally struggle with opening up to people just because of anxieties and that stuff so I normally am not super vulnerable with people. But my mom is someone that always has my back and always knows when I need to talk. She always has the right words to say.
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: The Lord has taught me a lot in the past year. He’s taught me patience, forgiveness, loving people when it’s hard etc. But I think the most meaningful thing for me recently has been loving other people. As humans we all get under each other’s skin and the Lord has had to show me that’s just life. He’s grown me in loving people when they hurt me and when they annoy me.
