Meet the Women at NAOBC – Brooke Hinkson
On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Brooke Hinkson.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: I grew up in Lawrenceburg, KY. My parents both follow the Lord and raised me to fear God. I got married in December 2020 to my sweet husband, Ethan! We met at Crossings at Cedarmore. I am now in my 3rd year of dental school at U of L.
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: We joined Ninth and O around February or March of 2021, so getting close to 2 years ago. We are in YC3! I serve with the children and the Avery Apartment Ministry.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: Kroger Pick-Up is one of the best things in my life right now. Haha
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A: It would have to be my Mom, of course. I saw and felt how well she balanced her work and commitment at home. It was clear that her heart was at home, but she did use (still does) her work as a physical therapist to share about Jesus with her patients. Long after her therapy was finished with a patient, she would still make sure their needs were met (like for medical equipment or Thanksgiving dinner!). She loves God’s Word and you can often find her sitting by a space heater reading it. She is funny, organized, and understanding. When I went through tough times as a teenager, she was gentle even still, which reminds me of how God’s gentleness leads us to repentance. (Romans 2:4)
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: I’ll have to reflect on this more over the next few weeks as 2022 comes to a close.
One of the first things that comes to mind is that God empowers us not only to do the right things but to have the right attitude while doing them. I feel as though I am at the point where I often know the right thing to do and do it, but I am now learning to ask God to give me joy in it.
Another theme recently has been considering Jesus as the perfectly righteous King. Our government leaders here will never be righteous or wise like Jesus. After reading through the Samuels and Kings, it made me ache for a truly good King – the One to reign forever.
