Meet the Women at NAOBC – Ashlie Ncube

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Ashlie Ncube.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: My husband, Mlu, and I are expecting a baby boy this Fall. I am a full-time M.Div. student at SBTS, a certified ACBC counselor, and Office Manager at Upstream Sending and The Upstream Collective. I moved to Louisville from Texas where former NAOBC members Nathan (and Amy) Magloughlin was my pastor.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: I first started attending NAOBC in the Fall of 2020 when I began the membership process, but after relocating a couple of times, I became a member when I returned in the summer of 2021. I began attending the women’s BFG and love them, but since getting married we have transitioned to YC7, which I also love. I am looking for more areas to serve, and currently I actively do some counseling as well as join my husband when he preaches at nursing homes.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: I enjoy using fancy china and milk glass because it reminds me of my grandparents.

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: My Grandma Smallwood who shared her love for the Lord, His people, His children, and the nations.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: His plans are beyond expectations and understanding, incomprehensible.
