Meet the Women at NAOBC – Ashley Foxworth

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Ashley Foxworth.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: I have been married to Jared since 2015. We met in college at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs) and moved to Louisville for Seninary right after our wedding. We love Louisville- it has really become home to us. We had our first son Jack in July of last year, and I work for Chick-fil-A as the Director of Marketing for the Louisville market. I am very thankful to love what I do!

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: We have been at NAOBC for about three years. We joined YC7 when we joined the church and shortly thereafter got plugged into the Singles ministry, so we’ve been involved in both BFGs for a while. Jared has also had the opportunity to intern under Philip for a couple of years. We could not be more thankful for the people we have come to know and love in both BFGs.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: I was a ballerina for all of my childhood and young adult life!

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: My mom for sure! She was the first person to teach me about Jesus. She taught me from when I was young to hide the Word in my heart. I can recall many verses as an adult because she taught them (or sang them) to us as kids. I’m so thankful for that. She teaches me still how to love others and how to hope in God.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: This year I’ve learned that when trouble arises, I can be far too easily tempted to turn inward and try to find comfort in some part of my life that I CAN control. Oftentimes that looks like throwing myself into a project at home or at work because I find comfort and distraction in being able to handle something for myself. The Lord has been teaching me how self-reliant and insufficient a comfort that is, and that true comfort and rest is found in running to the Shepherd with my weakness and with whatever chaos is confronting me, and trusting him to lead and care for me. He is so good to remind me of that when I need it!
