Meet the Women at NAOBC – Ashley Barrett

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Ashley Barrett.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: My name is Ashley Barrett. I am 38 years old. I currently work in the kitchen at Whitefield Academy. Its so much fun! I’m married to Kyle and he and I have 6 children. Life is not very quiet in our home and I really like it that way. Bring on the chaos and laughter. Haha.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: I have attended NAOBC since 2005. I have served in many areas in the church; all have been very fun and really a blessing to me. Kids choir is one of the best!! I currently serve in the youth department with my husband, Kyle. The youth in our church are awesome!!!

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: I am a last minute planner. It’s something with a large family I have had to grow in.

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: A woman that has made a major impact in my life is my Mom. It has taken me years to really see it (I am sad to say). She and I have grown closer in recent years and I am so blessed to watch her love. Like, really love people. The way she thinks of others and is there when I need her. I am so grateful for her.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: I know God is teaching me to allow Him to lead me. To really let go and trust His perfect timing. To pray and actively wait on Him. To not run ahead.

God loves us so much. He just gently shows us our sin and as we sin again and again He calmly teaches us again. Wow. That type of love amazes me to my core.
