Meet the Women at NAOBC – Amy Roberts

On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Amy Roberts.

Q: Tell us about yourself

A: I made my way to Louisville for seminary in 2010 by way of college in Birmingham, AL and my hometown of Fayetteville, AR (WPS!) Chris (Pepe) and I met at NAOBC in 2010 and got married in 2014. We are the parents to two hilarious and amazing boys and the heart-parents to several kids we’ve had the joy of having in our home via foster care. I currently work on the event support and planning staff at Christ Church United Methodist.

Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC

A: I’ve been at NAOBC since 2010 and have been serving in Kids Worship almost since I arrived! I’ve had the joy of seeing so many of our amazing kids grow up. If you are in need of a shot of adrenaline on Sunday mornings, come on by Kids Worship. We’re having a blast praising and worshipping together.

Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?

A: I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do

Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?

A: There are so many I could name who have helped me grow in all the areas of my life! I’m thinking, right now, of a young mom who was my neighbor when I first moved to Louisville. Without pomp and circumstance she brought me into her family. We shared meals, family movie nights, and she even celebrated my birthday when she knew I didn’t have anyone else at the time. Her simple, faithful hospitality made it possible for me to thrive in a new town.

Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?

A: To wait. Psalm 27:14
