Before coming to Louisville, Dr. Cook was the associate professor of New Testament and chair of the Theology Division at Florida Baptist Theological College, where he taught for ten years.
Pastor Cook co-authored with Dr. Chuck Lawless Spiritual Warfare in the Storyline of Scripture: A Biblical, Theological, and Practical Approach. Additionally, he authored the commentary John: Jesus Christ Is God, the book Forty Days in Mark and the forthcoming title, Jesus’s Final Week: From Triumphal Entry to the Empty Tomb; as well as co-author with Dr. Chuck Lawless of the forthcoming Victory Over the Enemy: Defeating the World, the Flesh, and the Devil.
He received the Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Doctor of Philosophy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Cook also serves as professor of New Testament interpretation at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville since 2000.
Dr. Cook has been on staff since 2001.
