Singing from the Grave

Today we begin a new series in Devotionables called “Songs of the Church.” Pastor Gabriel talks to us about the hymn, “There is a Fountain Filled with Blood.” This hymn, written by William Cowper, is based on Zechariah 13:1. We thank God for the fount of Jesus’ blood which cleanses us from sin and all uncleanness. He is our only hope. We proclaim the hope we have in Christ, and we sing. Even in death, our hope remains only Jesus.

Family Discipleship – Part 1: Sheltering and Equipping

Pastor Ryan stops by to talk with Gabriel about family discipleships and, in particular, the necessity and wisdom of sheltering and equipping kids in different stages of life.

Week in the Word- Update/What to Expect:

The past couple of weeks we have been giving you a glimpse into what this section of the blog will look like. A couple of updates for anyone who is new:

I will be asking different teachers/interns from our church to create a short write-up for the end of every blog. We have had some incredible writers so far, and we also have many exciting writers lined up for our “Week in the Word” section of this blog. You can expect this consistently, beginning next week!

The blogs will be published every Wednesday! You’ll want to read all of them to be informed about upcoming events, special dates and times, and to see who has written our “Week in the Word” for some much-needed, mid-week encouragement!!

You can also be ready for this blog to be a connection point and reflection point for our College and Singles group. We have some exciting new “upgrades” in store for this blog! Just wanted to keep everyone posted. Be on the lookout for next week’s blog!

The Compassionate Authority of Jesus

Jesus heals a leper. It’s a powerful and compassionate moment that shows us the authority of Jesus over sickness and his love for people.

What Do You Want for Christmas?

If you could ask God for anything, what would you ask from him? Jesus teaches his disciples to pray and tells them to ask, seek, and knock. When we ask, God will give us something better than we could ever hope or imagine–himself!

Be Spirit Filled

Paul commands Christians everywhere at and in all times to be filled with the Spirit. We ignore the Spirit to our detriment. What are some of the signs of being Spirit-filled? How do we become Spirit-filled?
