The Great Commission Offering

The GCO is our missions giving campaign that begins each December and culminates on Easter Sunday. This year we are supporting the following missions endeavors:

What is the Great Commission Offering?

We aspire at Ninth and O to take seriously our calling to make famous the name of the Lord throughout all the earth. We understand that our response to the Great Commission involves not only fervent prayer for the lost and a commitment to go, it also requires us to give sacrificially of our finances.

Toward that end, one way we have encouraged our members to give sacrificially to missions is through our GCO. The GCO is a missions giving campaign that begins each December and culminates on Easter Sunday. Through the GCO, we support an array of missions efforts occurring locally, nationally, and globally.

One advantage of the GCO is the flexibility it provides us in how we allocate our missions dollars. The GCO allows us to support missions efforts historically important to us as Southern Baptists (i.e., Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering) while also giving to other missions efforts our congregation is specifically passionate about (i.e., Rosalynn’s Hope, mission trip scholarships, Scarlet Hope, Gospel & Grain, Reaching & Teaching International Ministries). Although Ninth and O financially supports missions through the other avenues (i.e., Cooperative Program giving, general budget, special offerings), our primary emphasis for missions giving is the GCO.
