It is very challenging to live in this culture and be a middle or high school age person. Our youth ministry is a place where young people can come together to worship God and study His Word. It is an environment where youth can mesh and bond with other youth of their age. It is a fellowship where encouragement is nurtured through a shared belief in a mighty and loving God.
Sunday Morning BFG
On Sunday mornings the Youth meet in rooms 231 and 233 during the second hour (10:30-11:45). Once a month we have a game day with an abbreviated lesson for the High School and Middle School combined followed by a time of fellowship. The rest of the month, we begin by breaking up into small groups (divided by grade and gender) and then transition into separate lesson times for the High School and Middle School. Although the High School and Middle School meet separately, they will always cover the same lesson.
Wednesday Evening C-Groups
On Wednesday evenings our C-groups (Community Groups) meet in the office areas. Community groups are divided up by age and gender, and the focus of these groups is on more intimate, discussion based discipleship as well as fostering community. The discipleship in C-groups is built on a seven year teaching rotation, which covers each of the core skills mentioned above (Bible Study, Evangelism, and Community), as well as 20 foundational Christian doctrines, outlined in Wayne Grudem’s book Christian Beliefs. You can find a breakdown of the rotation along with a list of what curriculum each C-group is using under the C-group tab.
