Wednesday Evening Discipleship Opportunities

Session 1:  January 17 – February 21, 2018
Session 2:  February 28 – April 11, 2018

Deeper Life is designed to assist believers as they seek to mature in their Christian faith. With this objective in mind, we offer an array of discipleship courses throughout the year.

Session 1 (January 17 – February 21)

Women’s Book Club – Steadfast Love by Lauren Chandler
There are times when worship overflows effortlessly from a heart full of gratitude. Yet, there are other times when God seems far and we feel we have nothing left to offer. We feel tired, thirsty, or even imprisoned in our own chains through our own devices. This is when God shows us His steadfast love. Chandler, drawing from Psalm 107, writes about the lessons God taught her as she walked through darkness. Course taught by Rose Booth.  Book available here.

Comfort from the Psalms and Wisdom from the Proverbs
No other books in the Bible speak to us and for us as much as the books of Psalms and Proverbs. Both show us God’s perspective on the Christian life, and both express our own concerns about life. This 12-week course, expanding over both Sessions 1 and 2, will highlight these eternal truths. Course taught by T.J. Betts.

3 Circles
Telling people about a promotion at work is simple. You’re excited, they’re excited for you, and it is good news. Telling people about Jesus is hard. You’re timid, they’re skeptical, but it is still good news. The 3 Circles evangelism training presents a simple approach for how the average Joe Christian can turn everyday conversations into gospel conversations. Course taught by Philip Brown and Daustin Kratzer.

True Friendship
In a culture where online communications and communities can be set up in seconds, it is striking that loneliness is still rampant – even in the church. This 6-week course will explore why this reality exists, what the Bible says about true friendship, and how we can bring glory to God in our friendships. Course taught by Joe Maupin and various teachers. Corresponding book is optional and available here.
